Love Story

It was a bleak Saturday afternoon. Birds were flying in the sky in search of food and were enjoying the weather on the road. All of a sudden, a huge truck passed by and one of the birds was hit by it. There was a feeling of shock and terror. Even though the bird had died on the spot, at the same time another bird flew over, completely ignoring to the fact that the bird lying on the road was dead.

Soon, another truck passed by and the bird’s body moved certain distance all because of the strong with blown by the truck, which made the other bird think as if she was alive. He again flew back and chirped as if he was yelling and saying “come on, get up” “ why are you not listening to me?”

How can she reply back when she is no more, at the same time he is trying to pick her up but all in vain. Another car rushed through, he flew away and came back when the car was gone. All the other birds were chirping in the air “come back, she is no more” but was not ready to give up. He was trying his level best to see her flying again, with another truck passing by he body again swirled in the air as if she was alive and trying to fly again.

By now he was completely saturated, had tried all possibilities. This incident was witnessed by a man standing there, he was worried that the bird might get hurt as he was again and again flying back on the road, so he picked up the dead bird and kept it on the sides of the road. He came near her body and remained there refusing to leave. In this age, can we see such unconditional love in humans?
